On the 13th August a host of Afghan, Syria and Ukrainian families had a delicious picnic at Furness Abbey!

Creative fun

Some of the guys from the hotels have got involved with local organisations to take part in creative activities.

Also some of the guys regularly do volunteer gardening with Art Gene at the Allotment Soup Community Allotment. Recently they took part  in an arts session where they created ‘Lumen’ prints.

Barrow Unity Festival

Here are some photographs from the fabulous Barrow Unity Festival on the 8th July. The annual festival celebrates the strengths and diversity of the people of Cumbria by building community cohesion, advancing equality and social integration.

We had a most successful stall in Ulverston on June 24th. Folk were queueing up to taste the delicious cakes from Syrian, Afghan and Ukrainian families…

… followed by a delightful Eid celebration on 30th June.
